Don

I want to copy my picture files and documents to CD-Rs so
I can transfer them to another computer.
The files are larger than one CD-R will hold. How can I
copy them from one CD-R to the next, util I have the file
on two of three CD-Rs. When I fill up one CD I cannot start
where the last CD-R left off, it starts at the beginning
again, and I get a copy of the first one. The X-P backup
did not work, it took 12 hours to copy only 11 MB
Can any one help me with this?

Thank You,
Don

Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 from www.roxio.com can autospan large file onto a
multiple CDs however it is pricey. A cheaper alternative is to use a
compression program like WinRar or WinZip to split the file into 700MB
segments first and then burn those to CD. Then use the compression program
to put the file back together. These apps do not burn directly to CD
WinRar http://www.rarsoft.com/
WinZip www.winzip.com

Or you could use Backup MyPC from www.stompinc.com It is the full featured
version of the NTBackup program that ships with XP. It has the ability to
burn directly to CD and can auto span a file onto multiple disks.

DON, get pencil and paper and note sizes before you put
them in temp memory. If you overload you are asking for a
serious crash. Perhaps you are use to WMP that warns you.
A cascading event can happen that will not stop. I know,
I've had it happen.
Good Luck
