Hello.
If I copy files and folders from Windows NT 4 Server with
SP6a to Windows XP Professional över the network. Then I
copy the files and folders from Windows XP Professional to
another Windows NT 4 Server SP6a over the network.
Will files and folder be the same?.
Or will some info be lost between?.

Windows NT 4 Server and Windows XP Professional are using
NTFS.

A copy of a file is a copy of a file. There would be no info or data lost.
The os has nothing to do with it, except for permissions. The copied
folder/files would take on the permissions of the folders on the server they
are copied to.

Hi,

Why would they lose anything? They shouldn't unless there is some corruption
during the copy process.

When you copy a file across a network, the resulting file will be
exactly the same as the original (provided there are no failures in
transmission). The file system is just a matter of how it is held on a
particular machine and does not change the data. There is though a
probability that related metadata (access permissions for example) will
be left behind
