Is the CD a CD R/RW and/or is your CD drive a CD Recording drive?

It is a CD a CD R/RW , I can make copies with Roxio, but I would rather us XP
to do it. I used to be able to to it in the past. If I try to copy with disk
out it promts me to insert blank CD, but when CD is in that is the window
that comes up.

if you want to use XP rather then Nero, you need to disable the Nero Drag and
drop function and stop that service, as the Drag and drop seems to mess up
XP's own cd burning feature. Personally I would rather use Nero than XP to
copy cd's

Nero? what the heck is that?,

Nero is a burning software. I will not buy a CD DVD writer that does not
come with Nero OEM bundled. I have used Nero 4, 5, 6 and 7 but I backed
up to using Nero 6. I have never had a burning problem. Nero does have a
patch to allow non administrators to burn.

There's a XP bug with SP2, don't know it's yours, if you have more
than one drive on the system(eg: A and B), right click on the CD
burner you want to use (eg: A) -> properties -> and select this drive
for recording.

By doing this, because of an unknown XP bug, the other drive(B) gives
"incorrect function" error even if you double click when a blank CD-R
is insterted on drive B. That's about IMAPI cannot handle more than
one drive at the same system, only one of them is active for
recognizing blank CD-Rs and burning via XP's built-in burning engine
(IMAPI).

Let us know.

kimiraikkonen, thanks for the reply, only have one drive that use to work!
