Copy, cut and paste buttons are gray, can't use them

Can't get these to work - Word locked up, have restarted and shut down
computer still gray and can't use them. Any help please.

The access in this groups name refers to Microsoft Access, a database
program.
Please repost to the correct newsgroup for whatever version of Word
you are using. I would suggest you include your Windows and Office
