Copy and paste from MS Word from a scanned document

I scanned many typed pages into my MS Word, now I want to copy and paste some
of these paragraphs into my message format in MS Group community
area....Can't do it......The entire page in MS Word is within a protected
frame? Thanks
 
You have undoubtedly scanned the page as a graphic. If you want the text to
be editable, you have to process it with an OCR program (you probably got a
"lite" version of such with your scanner).
