Hi guys,

Can't use ctrl+c and ctrl+v for almost 3 hours after I login to my system

any suggestions?

If it worked previously try System Restore to a point or points if you need
to where it was working. You can go back up to 90 days. Go to:
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore

Additionally you should try SFC or System File Checker. Type sfc /scannow
in the run box. Here are screenshots of it running. You can go to
eventvwr.msc in the run box and click on System to make sure that it ran
successfully using the down arrow to go to Windows File Protection as the
source.

Right click Start Button and select properties, under the Start Menu Tab
click on Customize Button.
Click Advanced Tab and check the check box:
[ ] Enable dragging and dropping

Close and close the Taskbar properties.
On the IE Properties window click on Security Tab then click on Custom Level.
On the Security Settings scroll down to this option:
[$] Drag and drop or copy and paste files
( ) Disable
(*) Enable check this radio button
( ) Prompt

Click OK and then OK again to close the Internet Explorer properties and
Reboot your machine and see if you could copy and paste.
Be sure your machine is clean from malwares and viruses by scanning your
computer.
HTH.
Regards,
nass

Are you saying that every time you boot the computer, CTRL-C and CTRL-V do
nothing at all, but three hours later, they always work normally? How long
has this been going on?

Or have I misunderstood?

thankyou all for very valuable info, before I get a chance to read your
messages, I emtied my temp. files and run a detect and repair for office
applications. then after my restarting the mechine everyting is working fine
at the moment if I get anymore problem, I will try yours way.
thanks again
