Copy all emails to a CD without using Backup?

How can I copy all of my emails in one action to a CD without using Backup or
compressing my files? I do not want to compress the emails.
Or, do I have to copy my emails one at a time?
Also, I have been told that Windows XP Home Edition cannot back up all the
data files to a CD. Is that true?
I really appreciate your help. I am a novice -- that is obvious.

What email client are you using?

Yes.

Neither can XP Pro unless you have a third-party application that will
format CDs for packet writing.

"Gordon"

I am using MS Outlook Express for my E-mail.
What suggestions would you have?
I really appreciate your help.

What I do is
open the e-mail
then save As in a folder I create

If I understand correctly, this method would involve opening and saving each
email, one by one, is this correct?

I need help to save a large number of emails in one procedure.
How can I save all the emails in one step?
I really appreciate your willingness to help a novice.
Thank You,

Gordon, is there a third party application
that you feel confident to recommend
to back up all the E-mails in Outlook Express
to a CD in one step?

You don't need anything special. Use whatever CD burning software you
already have to copy the Message Store folder to CD. To find out where that
folder is, open OE and go to Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store Folder.
By default, it is in an "Identities" subfolder under your username in
C:\Documents and Settings. It consists of a bunch of .dbx files
representing all your OE message folders.

Your information was a big help to me.
This is all new territory to me, but I am eager to learn.
I really appreciate your willingness to help me
and to provide simple, step by step, instructions.
Thank You,

More help needed.

I went, step by step, to Store Folder.
The Store Folder was named:
C:\Documents and Settings\Raymond Heyer\
Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\
lots of numbers\
Microsoft\Outlook Express

When I progressed to \Raymond Heyer
none of the other files were there.

What should I do next?

Thank You for helping me.

In Windows Explorer go to Tools-Folder Options and click on the View tab.
Scroll down to Hidden Files and Folders and check the option "Show Hidden
Files and Folders" and all should be revealed!

Thank You So Much, HTH

Your instructions unlocked the "hidden files"
and now I can view them.
Thank You for helping me with this stymied problem.
Keep up the good work of helping the novices.
Again, thank you,
