Copy a slide

I would like to copy a slide that has its own slide master onto other
powerpoint that has its own slide master as well. When I do it, the
imported slide is changed to the slide master of new powerpoint. Can
someone advise how to use the slide master of original with the imported
slide.

Scott,
If you are using PPT 2003 you can copy the slide in the outline tab, go to
the other presentation paste it in at the appropriate place in the outline
or slide sorter view. Upon pasting you will be presented with a tiny button
called paste options, click on it and choose to keep the source formatting.

Alternatively, you could go to the new presentation and choose Insert >
Slide > From File, selecting the appropriate slide from the other
presentation and being sure to check the box for keep source formatting.
