copssh/tunnelier old sshd's linger

I'm using copssh and tunnelier to remote into my work. I'm the only one using
this at the moment and I noticed that there are multiple sshd processes
running on the copssh server. At some point I won't be able to remote in
anymore because I will run into the max number of sshd's and then the only
remedy is to reboot the server that is running copssh. I haven't tried to
manually kill the sshd's that are no longer in use. I used the bash prompt to
view all processes with the 'ps -a' command.
My guess is that the session isn't always ended gracefully on the client.
Any way I can prevent this?
