I copied my favorites from my XP computer into the favorites folder on my
Vista PC. Now, I can create a new favorite in sub-folders created by the
Vista PC, can't add them to the folders that were created and copied form
XP. Are there any ideas for a remedy? - Thanks, IM

How are you trying to add them. What happens if you drag them to the desired file folders

On my old computer, I drug (is that a word?) the favorites folder to a share
folder, then on the new computer, I drug the contents of the old favorites
folder to the Vista Favorites folder - Bob

That's the problem. You have to "say no to drugs".

Try creating a subfavorite such as "drugs" that matches your XP subfavorite
of the same name. Then try dragging the old favorites from the subfolder
("drugs") on old machine to the new one. I'm guessing its a directory
permissions issue and you can overcome it that way by just dragging the
files, but maybe not.

If not, then make a backup of the "drugs" directory, and remove the original
at your discretion.

Also, seriously, if you can't do the above, then what are the error
messages?
