coolwebsearch hijacker

I got infected with the coolwebsearch hijacker. I use 3 spyware tools,
spysweeper, xoftspy, and spybot. none of these tools remove coolwebsearch.
I have followed many procedures found on the web. none of them work.

I suppose I will have to switch browsers since IE is infected. either that
or reload it or reload my registery and remove all my java stuff. still the
hijacker is hidden in my registry somewhere.

maybe I have to do a repair. any ideas.
