Hi I have a Laptop which has an AMD K6 processor when I
boot it up the fan starts but as soon as W2K loads the fan
switches off. When I shut down and windows closes the fan
comes back on until the machine shuts down.
The problem started when I updated the system from 98 to
W2K.
I had found a solution but after reformatting my computer
I don't remember how I was able to have the fan running
continuously. I believe I disabled something in the Device
Manager but I cannot remember what!
Anybody can help me please?
Rick

What service pack level is this machine at ?
Does your laptop have any kind of "silence" mode that could be responsible
for the CPU fan not running ? (I know that some IBM's do)

You will probably find the answer at the AMD web site or the laptop
manufacturers site.
