I would like to permanently kill all cookies and urls not only from my
cookie caches but also from the registry hive. What keys should be deleted
after cleaning cookies?
What can you delete from system32\temp ?

Bill

Bill,

Cookies aren't held in the registry

What TEMP folder in System32?

You're getting confused

Besides, you cannot permannently delete them as when visiting the sites they will return

Thats the problem. They return. Your supposed to be able to clear the
cookies without them returning. Cookies must be linked in the registry by
clsid or something.

Bill,

The websites create cookies.

If you never go on the web you will never get them

Nope. You THINK you can do that, but you can't. The only thing you
can do is configure Explorer to prompt you every time a site is
attempting to install a cookie.

Or you can manually delete all cookies and temp inet files at the end
of each session.

No way ho-zay.

OR you can use Mozilla Firefox (www.getfirefox.com) and not only get a
faster internet but also the ability to turn cookies off. That way you
will NEVER have cookies, but you will never be able to login as well
on any website ;).

As was mentioned here, cookies return every time you go the site that sets
them. You can use the free program Cookie Wall that will allow you to set
preferences so that cookies are automatically deleted. There is even the
ability to say which cookies you always want to keep in case there are some
with log on info such as banks, etc.

Actually, I just checked and IE has the option of blocking all cookies
too (have never used it so I forgot it was there). Like you said -
though - that really wreaks havoc with sites you WANT to be
remembered.

I tried Firefox for quite some time and liked the ability to "always"
block those that I deleted, but it was a lot of work setting up and
maintaining the block list.

Did your cat get warts?

Every other cat owner who's tried FireFox ended up with a lumpy feline.
