Yes, as why we clean our homes from the finest dust? ;-).
Cluttering your system over the time and setting ducks!.

If the cookie contains the site name then maybe, but a lot of sites also
drop tracking cookies onto your PC as well.
As I also found out one site's cookie also contained my logon/password in
non encrypted form.

If you have customized a site, you will often lose that when you delete the
cookie.
Some sires won't work properly without a cookie and some sites won't work at
all.
