cookie mandatory profile issue

Greetings.

I have created a mandatory profile for 1500 users. The profile works
properly, however, my issue is with IE cookies.

I can set the filter on google images to the highest setting. This saves
that preference as a cookie. When i log in as each user the preference is
gone. I realise this is because the cookie is stored in the following way
"(e-mail address removed)[2].txt". Since every user has a diffeent username you can
see my problem.

Does anyone know a way around this where i can create a cookie that works
for any user that logs in?

Many thanks
James

My thoughts would be to use a different browser. If you make IE the default
you're going to have neverending security issues anyway.

If you use Firefox, cookies are stored in a textfile in the user's Firefox
profile, under Application Data. If you create a default (XP) profile
containing a standard Firefox profile then this will apply to new users. Or,
you can just deliver the profile and profiles.dat file to new users with a
script.

BTW, for rollout purposes Firefox itself doesn't actually need installing,
just copy the program folder to a suitable location and create a shortcut.
Don't forget to put npswf32.dll (Flash) in the plugins folder.

The other option is to use MyLogon - with this all IE cookies have the same
username regardless of actual logon. Whether it's a suitable solution depends
on your exact requirements, of course. Even so I'd go for Firefox or
Seamonkey in any case ;-)

Hope this helps,

Ian.
