converting word with text, tables and graphicsto powerpoint

I am new to powerpoint. I have a document in microsoft word which i need to
convert to a powerpoint presentation. I have read where i should do the
heading 1, 2, 3
tried that but the resulting powerpoint document looks awful and it doesn't
carry over the tables/graphics and colours that were originally in the word
document

Please help

Word to Powerpoint,
You are quite right, only the headings will be imported into PPT. No
graphics or tables or such. For each heading one you will get a new slide
every heading 2, 3 a bullet of the first and second level.

There's no way to get straight from a word doc to a powerpoint show with
graphics / tables etc. You will need to cut and paste.
