I have a number of users on XP that have been configured in a
peer-to-peer network. They are now looking at moving to a domain logon.
As far as I am aware, connecting to a domain from an XP machine creates
a totally new user id on the XP system. For example, if the local id
(USER) exists on the machine, connecting to a domain (named NTDOMAIN)
creates a new user named USER.NTDOMAIN. Is this true? If so, is there a
way to migrate all the user's settings from the local logon (USER) to
the domain logon (USER.NTDOMAIN)? I know there is the 'Files and
Settings Wizard' available in 'All Programs -> Accessories -> System
Tools', but how good is this really?
Thanks
