Converting PDA recordings to tasks

How do you move a "recording1" from notes to a task automatically? Here's the
scenario...I'm walking in the airport and don't have access to a pen & paper.
Using my PDA, I hit my little red button to verbally record a note that
popped in my head. When I go to sync my PDA, the recording shows up as
"recording1" in the notes folder. Since it's not in my tasks folder, I'll
likely forget that it's there.

I've tried to set up a rule with no luck (rules only work with messages).

Does anyone know how to do this?

Automatically? No. But you can just drag and drop a note to the tasks
folder and it will make a task item for you.

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of. If anyone else has any ideas on how to
do this automatically, please let me know!

I could work with that...every note being automatically converted to a task.
But I do use the due dates.

How would you set due dates if the tasks are auto-created?

Easier to just drag/drop them -- unless you're doing dozens of notes a day
it shouldn't be much of a chore. In fact, all you'd have to do is
drag/drop, then enter the due date and save/close. Task created.

Yeah, but I was hoping there would be a way for the tasks to (possibly) be
created with the due date of "today". Back to my original scenario, if I am a
user who likes to use tasks and I'm in a situation where I can't simply pull
out my PDA to write a task, it'd be nice to be able to record it. Let's say
I'm in the airport and I use my PDA to voice record a task to do something
such as "don't forget to call your grandma for her birthday" or something
like that. I fly out. I'm dead tired from the flight. Next day I sync up my
PDA to my laptop. Outlook will put the recording in as a note (not a task).
Since I don't normally use the record function of my PDA for tasks, I'll
likely forget that it's in my notes of Outlook. If it were automatically a
task for 'today', I'd see it.

Thanks, Mark

Well...I guess if you're good at VBA you could write a script you could run
that would do that. But there isn't any easy way to do it.

Dang. Maybe the next version of Office will have this feature.

Thanks again,
