converting from .doc to WP

I've just upgraded to a new computer and I'm having trouble accessing files
I've saved on a CD-RW from my previous Windows ME.

I'm not sure how to convert my "ancient" works word processor documents into
my new xp-professional word perfect.

Any help is appreciated. The only way I can think to do it.... the long
way.... copy and paste into an email, but we're talking 100's of files. I've
tried looking it up in the computer helps, but the steps they advise are just
not working.

I don't know about your setup...but my WordPerfect12 converts .doc files
to wordperfect format automatically when opened with WP12. They can then
be SAVED as wordperfect files.

Hi,

I would go to the Word Perfect site and see if they have converters
you can download.

For Microsoft Office of all versions there is the Converter pack you
can download and install that will open pretty much any other doc
file. However I never use Word Perfect so I am not sure if they have
the same.

Hi jeans.....
I seem to have the same or similar trouble you are having. I have a bunch of
files
on a floppy disk from Microsoft Word 2000 from my previous computer and have
no
luck opening them. I have no clue how to open them under my WordPerfect or
MS Word. If you received any solutions, please let me know. Further more, if
anyone else knows how to solve this problem, please don't hesitate to inform
me.
