Converting domain account to workgroup account

I have a user account/profile on an XP Pro machine that is currently part of
a domain. Can I change this account/profile to be a member of a workgroup
rather than the domain without having to create a new account and move all
of my documents/favorites/etc?

Hi

Instead of copying the profile files, try this instead:

We solve this by (in the registry) changing the profile path for
the new user to point to the old user's profile folder (the user
needs to log on at least once first).

If the user is not a local admin, you might need to to something on the
permission side. Use tip 4631 and 2240 in the 'Tips & Tricks' at
http://www.jsiinc.com as a guide.
