converting doc. to .txt

I am trying to post my resume on Merck Pharmaceutical's website. It is a
word doc and the website has instructions to submit it in plain text version
making sure the formatting is correct. I tried to do it, but all my bullets
were screwed up. Can anyone explaint to me how to do this? Thanks. Ann

p.s. I am using Microsoft Word on Windows XP

File > save as > type = plain text.
Plain text is the most basic form of document and cannot retain some forms
of formatting. Having saved it as plain text open it in Notepad (which will
provide a view like a web dialog box) and make any minor adjustments to the
layout that are required.
