Converting csv-file to mdb

Guest

Hi,

I want to convert/transform all my csv-files into a microsoft access(2003)
database. This instead of opening the csv-files up and then copy and paste
them to a mdb. Is it possible to do this and continuing with this in order to
create a big database out of the data?

Thanks for you time

Giving up ski-jumping?

Sure. Open an Access database.
Go to the menu bar and select File, Get External Data, Import.
In the Files of Type dropdown select Text Files. It's towards the bottom.
Find one of your csv files.
Try it out. The wizard should guide you. You might need to go the Advanced
button to fine tune the import.

Dear Jerry,

Thank you for your response.

I tried doing a similar thing like instructed but didn't manage to get the
same result like now. Thanks

There still remains a problem though, access creates with the instruction of
me, 6 tables. But when I tried to insert a new csv-file to expand the db's
data it is not working. Can the field names be an issue?(As the csv-file has
e.g. client_id while the table has ClientID) Can the amount of tables be an
issue (e.g. if the fields don't have data it won't convert)?

I need to be able to insert future csv-files to this db which would be so
helpful and efficient.

Thank you

Eddie
