I'm trying to convert copied text into a template to the font that I have on
the template. The text being copied is Time Roman, but the font on the
template is Verdana. It's not actually being copied, but dumped into a
template.

How do I automatically convert to Verdana font from Times Roman?

Thanks

If Verdana is the default font of the document, select the pasted text and
press Ctrl+Spacebar. If Verdana has been applied as direct formatting,
select the text and then choose Verdana from the font list.

How do I get Verdana to be the default font for other text to automatically
change to when importing into this template?

You can change the default font for the template by selecting Verdana in the
Font dialog, clicking Default..., and answering yes. Note that this will
make Verdana the default font for the attached template, so be very sure
that template is not Normal. If it is a template (*.dot file) that you have
open, then I *think* this action would probably save the change to the
template you have open; you can accomplish the same thing by changing the
font for Normal style (which will also change the font for a specific
document without changing the font of the template).
