converting a saved movie to burn on vcd or dvd.

Ihave produced a movie using mm2 and saved to file in my videos it is in wmv
format. I cannot now open the file in SONIC RECORD NOW or POWER PRODUCER
WHICH CAME WITH THE COMPUTER. How can i now convert this file to a dvd folder
that will be accepted by my other software so that i can burn it to dvd and
play it on my RONIN P215F that i have just purchased to accept it.
Do i need some different software or am i stuck.

You need to save it in DV-AVI format back in Movie Maker.

Thank you to all for your assistance i have now converted the file to dv.avi
and have managed to transfer to power producer and burn to dvd , but it does
not play very well the video stops and starts and so does the audi ,as if it
is in slow motion.
Is it that i have not converted to m.peg 2, should powre producer have done
this for me?
Also i have tried to import into sonic record now that came with the
computer but have no luckit does not want to find the file and import it ,is
the software that came with the computer the best ,or could i be using that
would be more appropriate, such as sonic mydvd or nero 6.
Any help would be appreciated thank you.
