converting a document in word 2003 to word perfect 8

I have been using word 97 and converting to wp 8 for an accurate line count
without spaces between paragraphs. Now that I have upgraded to word 03 I
cannot copy and paste my word document into wp 8. I get a message that says
"input file is not the format specified". How can I correct this so that I
can continue to use wp 8 for my line count.

You'll still get an accurate line count if you stop using empty paragraphs
to create spaces between paragraphs. Instead, add some Spacing Before/After
to the paragraph.

Word wouldn't number "spaces between paragraphs" if you created them
properly, i.e. with "Space After" in your paragraph style, instead of
by typing the Enter key.

You can then turn on Line Numbering (in Page Setup > Layout) set for
Continuous and keep track of the number of lines you're typing
throughout the document..
