Dr. Indera

hello,

i'd like to know which file format is best to convert wma files from a music
cd to?
if it matters my cd burning software is nero 6.

what software do you recommend that i use to convert the wma files with?

thank you.

I'm not sure I understand the issue...

You have WMA files that have been ripped from a CD and you wish to know what
format to convert the WMA files to? (Or)
You are trying to burn a CD (Audio or Data?) with WMA files you have, the
software you are using is Nero 6?

hi chris,

the music cd i purchased has wma as the file type for the songs.
i tried to make a copy of the cd using nero express, but nero did not
recognize this file format.
i even downloaded and installed nero's wma plug-in, but that didn't help.

i took your advise and did a search at download.com and came up with
www.jetaudio.com

that i know which format is best.

: Dr. Indera,
: You can convert them to either .wav or .mp3 files.. Do a GOOGLE
: search: http://www.google.com and type in either .wma OR mp3
: OR .wav converters... You will find all sorts of different converters.
: Some are freeware and some of the better ones are of course SHAREWARE.

Dr,
If you are wanting to play them in a standard CD player like
on your home stereo system, I believe they will have to be converted
to .wav extension.. You can also convert them to mp3 which has a
MUCH higher compression and put up around 100 songs on ONE CD,
but you would have to buy a converter for your home or auto stereo
to be able to play them... Any of the formats will play in Windows
Media Player... Well, ALMOST all formats.. WMP will play wma--
mp3-- and .wav files. Bear in mind that .wav files will be large files
to the point where about the most average songs, you will only be
able to place about 1 to 15 songs per CD..

Easiest way to make a music CD to use in an ordinary player is probably
to copy the files to hard disk using windows explorer. Then make sure
the inbuilt CD burning is enabled, and use that. Make a playlist of
them in Windows Media Player (making sure that the elapsed time is
within the 74 minutes of a standard audio CD) and then Write to CD on
the left. that will convert to standard audio tracks in the process.

To make a copy *as wma files* use Nero but regarding them as files,
just making a regular ISO CD and pull them from Hard disk into the
compilation; or use the Copy CD as for a data one

hi burt,

the software converter i found, jet audio let me convert the wma files with
no problem.
thank you.
