Convert pst files 2007 ==> 2003

ello,

I want to step back to Outlook 2003 from Outlook 2007. Is there an asy way
to convert the pst files? When I goto Export, it wants me to select a
folder to export and I don't see an "All Folders/Everything" option. Am I
missing something?

Thanks,

Vic

Vic,

Never use export or import. Simply locate your Outlook.pst file. I suggest
that you move it to My Documents. Then when you back up My Documents you
have that backed up also. After you have installed Outlook 2003, choose Open
from the File drop down menu, then choose Outlook Data file. Browse to your
Outlook.pst file in My documents.

Why you would want to do that? I have used Outlook 2007 since January 31,
first on a Window XP Pro system and three weeks ago on a Windows Vista
Ultimate.

Thanks Charles, good idea to move the pst to My Documents! The reason I
want to step back to 2003 is two fold:

(1) Outlook 2007 is much slower then 2003
(2) I have an OEM version of Office 2007 and I intend to install on my
Windows Vista Ultimate. I don't think I can have Office products with only 1
license installed on separate machines. Of course when I'm fully moved to
Vista Ultimate I'll abandon 2003

Thanks again Charles,

Then again, there are the bugs (like not connecting to paid Hotmail
accounts) that make some of us question the wisdom of adopting yet another
product of Microsoft's that we must trouble-shoot for them.

'It is so slow' - I keep seeing this, but I have not experienced this. I
have OUTLOOK 2007 running on 3 different PCs with XP and one PC with Vista
Ultimate. On all 4 machines it is running well. I love the new Office 2007
and would not go back.

I'm using a Core 2 Duo with a 2.1 GHz processor. What I've found is
that unless you've got a small PST file (250MB max), Outlook 2007 will
crawl compared to 2003. I am guessing that there are so many
background processes going on, e.g. indexing, that it is causing the
machine to lock up. I can see the hard drive light spinning on a
regular basis when Outlook 2007 is open.

That said, it's not like the delay is huge at times if you've slimmed
your pst file down it is always noticeable if you've used them both.
