Convert Fat32 to NTFS

I have a Western Digital USB external hard drive that I have been using for
awhile for storage. I just realized that Fat32 is a problem for backing up
my hard drive because of the size limitation. DUH! So I am planning to
convert the external drive to NTFS. Is there anything I should know about
before I do the conversion? I'm a grandma and I am having a lot of senior
moments lately so I would appreciate any warnings about anything I need to
be aware of. I have actually moved all the files I care about off the drive
just to avoid any possible loss of data.

Greetings --

You can safely convert your hard drive to NTFS whenever desired,
without having to format the partition and reinstall everything. As
always when performing any serious changes, back up any important data
before proceeding, just in case. A little advance preparation is also
strongly recommended, so you can avoid any performance hits caused by
the default cluster size:

As long as you don't have any files on it that you need to keep, just
convert it by going to START-SETTINGS-CONTROL PANEL. Double Click on
ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS. Double Click on COMPUTER MANAGEMENT. Double Click
DISK MANAGEMENT. Then RIGHT CLICK the drive you want to format and select
NTFS in the FILE SYSTEM field.

A piece of cake!
