CONVERT CORRUPTED FILE IN MSWORD INTO A WORD DOCUMENT

N

NSNR

Currently I was editing a word file, suddenly I got a error message and the
file disappeared. Later after re-starting the system a file with a name as
~WRL002.tmp if created with few bytes and another file with 2 kb size as
link file.

My problem is how can I get back the orifinal file. though I tried to rename
the above file(~WRL002.tmp ) as a .doc file It is not possible. I get a error
that " Make sure that the disk is not full or write-protected and that the
file is not currently in use"

Solutions for the above is appreciated.

Where you editing the document directly from removable media such as floppy
disc? This is the most frequent cause of document corruption and data loss.
ALWAYS work directly from the hard drive. .

NO I was working with the file stored on HDD(drive D). Even today I had few
problems of the same nature. The file being edited seems to be lost and in
its place a temp file with filename starting as ~wrm00234.tmp is created.
Original file is lost. Though I tried to rename this temp file to .doc , it
gives an error that the file is being accessed by someone else on the network
or filename is wrong or pathname is incorrect.
