I have taken over a project from church that was in Access 97 and mine Access is 95. Can the 97 database be converted to 95 in any way?

Can you explain what A97 and A95 means? Is that a conversion program?

A97 = Access 97
A95 = Access 95

A97 has an option to save an A97 version file in the A95 format. A95 does
NOT have the ability to make this same conversion.

Uh, uh, Rick. Access 97 does NOT have the ability to save to a previous
version: that capability wasn't added until Access 2000 (and it only goes
back one version: you can save in Access 97 format from Access 2000, but you
can't save in Access 95 format)

If (and only if) you have both versions of Access installed AND you have VB5
runtime files installed, you can use the free Downsize Dev Ashish and Terry
Kreft wrote. It's downloadable at
http://www.mvps.org/access/modules/mdl0029.htm

There's no other option that I'm aware of.

I see that now. I was attempting to clarify the first response without
bothering to check if it was accurate.

Access 97 and Access 95 use the same data format, but
store Forms and Reports differently.
So your Access 95 can link an A95 database to an A97
database and use the A97 data.

If you have forms and reports from A95, they can be converted
to A97 by A97. It is more difficult to convert back from A97 to
A95/
