upgrading 95 databases & using runtime

R

rob

I need to update some Access 95 databases to overcome the 1GB ram
limit of Access 95.

I have Access 2000.

1. What are common hurdles to expect when upgrading 95 databases to
2000?
2. Is the Access 2000 Runtime available anywhere?
3. WIll the Access 2007 Runtime read Access 2000 files?

Thanks!

Realizing, of course, that MS will no longer provide security patches
next year. That said I read below you are considering the A2007
runtime.

The probably two best sites on converting to Access 2007 are
http://allenbrowne.com/Access2007.html and
http://accessjunkie.com/faq2007.aspx
2. Is the Access 2000 Runtime available anywhere?
No.

3. WIll the Access 2007 Runtime read Access 2000 files?

Yes. If you have menu bars and tool bars then see Jeff Conrad's page
How do I get my existing legacy menu bars and toolbars to work in
Access 2007? Right now they all show up on the Add-Ins tab.
http://accessjunkie.com/faq_31.aspx

However for you to create deployment packages will require that you
purchase a retail copy of A2007.
