Dick Stouffer

I'm using PowerPoint 97 with Win98se

I ask my friends to download my PowerPoint slideshows so I want
to keep the file size as small as possible.

When I experiment with different audio files using Slide Transition
the size of the .ppt tends to grow and grow. Why? I would hope
FileA gets replaced by FileB. I don't want them both in there.

I've tried using "No sound" hoping that would cause the previously used
audio file to be deleted. Sometimes that happens. More often it doesn't.
Puzzling.

How do I keep my .ppt files from becoming bloated with unwanted clutter,
especially no longer used audio files?

Dick Stouffer

I may have found the solution -- Disallow Fast Saves. Click Tools | Options | Save tab | Uncheck the Allow Fast Saves box.

If there are other tricks to minimizing the .ppt file size, please let me know.
