Controlling desktop appearance through Group Policy

I am trying to create a consistent desktop appearance
for all client PC's across the domain. Is there a way to
enforce desktop settings such as background color, system
fonts, etc. through the use of Group Policy?
 
There are settings in user configuration/administrative templates/desktop. Otherwise
you may need to look into mandatory profiles. --- Steve
