I have a spreadsheet with 4 columns. I am scanning some bar codes
into the 2nd and the 3rd column. I want to the active cell to change
to the 3rd cell after I scan the bar code for the second column. This
is obviously easy to do. But I want it go to the 2nd column of the
next line after I scan the bar code for the 3rd column. Is there any
way to do this?

Hi Mike

One way would be to lock the Scroll area of the sheet.
The following macro will toggle the lock On or Off again.

Sub LockCols()
If ActiveSheet.ScrollArea = "" Then
ActiveSheet.ScrollArea = "B:D"
Else
ActiveSheet.ScrollArea = ""
End If
End Sub

Copy the Code
Alt+F11 to invoke the Visual Basic Editor
Insert>Module
paste the code into the white pane that appears
Alt+F11 to return to Excel

To use
Alt+F8 to bring up Macros
Select LockCols>Run

If the scroll area is set, it will unset it for you.
If it is unset, it will set it.
