Controling applications using ATI Catalyst

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right group. It's the only one that I can find
which mentions ATI.

I recently switched from an nVidia graphics card to an ATI card.
I have Dual displays set up in Horizontal Stretch mode.
When I used nVidia, the control software had a neat feature, that it
could control the applications that you manage. For instance, if I
open up an application, I can maximize it to only one screen. Or if
alerts appear, I can get it to center on only one screen.

Does anybody know if Catalyst supports this feature?

Thanks.

Yes, there is a separate program called Hydravision that augments the
standard Catalyst drivers.

Hydravision is unsupported by AMD/ATI (Had a wonderful discussion with a
support tech that was completely unhelpful), but I did find it somewhat
useful. It does most of what I want, although I have found it to be a
little inconsistent when maximizing windows.

One thing in particular that I can't get it to do that I liked about
nView is keep the Windows Start menu bar on one screen. I find that I
have to keep turning from one screen to another to see popups from the
taskbar.

Perhaps somebody knows of a way to do this. Perhaps there is some
other software that I can run, another desktop manager that supports
lots of cards? Does anybody know of anything?

Thanks.

Those techs are meant to deal with the "vast majority of stupid users", the
type that according to Steve Jobs gets confused by having more than one
mouse button...

Meanwhile, some users that have a large number of apps open prefer the long
task bar spanning across two monitors, such that each "button" can show the
full app title. :)

Try this one. Platform-independent, too.
