In the Control Panel, I can't "set" the View. I change it from "View>Details"
to "View>Large Icons", but as soon as I exit out of Control Panel, or go to a
subfolder, when I return, the View is back to "Details".

Any suggestions on how to correct this?

Thanks

Explorer|View|Large Icons Then Explorer|Tools|Folder Options|View, then
"Apply To All Folders". Depending on your likings, you may also need to
check "Remember each folder's view settings"

Hi, Dave--

Thanks for the speedy reply. The problem I'm having is that I need the
"Details" view in Windows Explorer, but the Large Icons view in Control Panel
and all its subfolders. When I check "Set all Folders Like Current Folder" in
Windows Explorer, it changes the View in Control Panel, too. Likewise, when I
set it in Control Panel, if I *don't* click on "Like Current Folder," it
reverts back to details the next time I open it. Clicking on "Like Current
Folder" sets Windows Explorer to Large Icons, also, instead of Details. The
settings just keep toggling. I've checked "Remember each folder's view
settings" but that hasn't made any difference.

It feels like something is haywire in the registry, or as if a switch got
flipped somewhere, but I'm not sure where to look.

Thanks for any help--

DK

OK I thought you were in Control Panel|Folder Options. What happens if you
create a new user account (Users and Passwords) and logon? Also you might
try turning off 'Web View'
