OK I thought you were in Control Panel|Folder Options. What happens if you
create a new user account (Users and Passwords) and logon? Also you might
try turning off 'Web View'

| Hi, Dave--
|
| Thanks for the speedy reply. The problem I'm having is that I need the
| "Details" view in Windows Explorer, but the Large Icons view in Control
Panel
| and all its subfolders. When I check "Set all Folders Like Current Folder"
in
| Windows Explorer, it changes the View in Control Panel, too. Likewise,
when I
| set it in Control Panel, if I *don't* click on "Like Current Folder," it
| reverts back to details the next time I open it. Clicking on "Like Current
| Folder" sets Windows Explorer to Large Icons, also, instead of Details.
The
| settings just keep toggling. I've checked "Remember each folder's view
| settings" but that hasn't made any difference.
|
| It feels like something is haywire in the registry, or as if a switch got
| flipped somewhere, but I'm not sure where to look.
|
| Thanks for any help--
