might there be any way to password the control panel ? it might seem silly,
but it's just an idea for a little more parental control--( each of my kids
keep changing each others passwords)

No, but you can control what users can do and access. If you have XP Pro,
this is done through Group Policy - Start>Run>gpedit.msc [enter].

If you have Home, use either MVP Doug Knox's Security Console or the MS
Shared Computer Toolkit.

1. Goto regedit edit HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\don't load. If the
don't load sub-key is missing, add it.
2. To hide the applet,type nusrmgr.cpl as a string data type (reg_sz). Set
it to No
3. You must logoff and logon for these settings to become effective.
