Ken Rock

Hi,
I have recently had problems tyring to access the Control Panel. As soon as
the Control Panel screen is visible, a series of messages appear ..."Windows
Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close....." "An error has
occurred in Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer will now close".
Can anyone please help me with this problem?
Regards, Ken Rock

To determine if this is caused by a browser extension (also loads with
explorer.exe processes), disable the tool bands and Browser Helper Objects:

1. Click Start, Run, type Control Inetcpl.cpl.
2. Click the Advanced tab.
3. Under Browsing, click to clear the Enable third-party browser extensions
(requires restart) check box.

Open Control Panel, or folder window and observe the behavior. If the
problem persist, undo the above setting. Try ShellExView to determine if a
shell extension is causing the problem.

Using ShellExView, disable all the third-party extensions (non-Microsoft),
and restart.
