control of a remote music server

Can you use a windows xp media center PC to control/access
another PC/Server in my house which has all of my music on
it? ie can the media center remote control indirectly
control another PC's media player or will the songs have
to be transferred to the media center pc?

The microsoft.public.windows.mediacenter newsgroup should be able to help
you with this. The short answer is that MCE won't provide anything special;
you could, however, always share out your other system's files to make them
accessible on your MCE machine.
