Control Enter Keyboard Shortcut does not work

S

SK

I am using IE 6 SP1. When you type something in the address bar, for
example, micrsoft, and then hit control enter, that comand is supposed to
put the www. and .com at the end of the typed word so that you would have
www.microsoft.com.

When I do that I get the following in the address bar:
http:///? microsft The browser window dislays "this page cannot be
displayed" etc.

Am I missing some setting in IE to make this happen? Thanks for any help.

I tried that but had no luck. Interestingly if I type in MSN then use the
keyboard shortcut control enter, I get the expected results of www.msn.com.
What else could be wrong.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

The simple solution could be:

Tools\Internet options\Advanced Tab
Check "Use inline autocomplete"
Apply and okay your way out.

If still no joy.

Suggest you get the latest copy of the tool and run it again.

The http:/// is indicative of that parasite.

The malware is very active and may be you have a new version.
