Control Enter at IE Address Box creates a Lycos search

Some time back, my IE setup somehow changed so that if i
put a web adress on the address line without the www.
and .com, and press Control and Enter, I go to the Lycos
search webpage. It does not simply insert the www.
and .com.

I have searched to see if Lycos somehow planted a
program, but cannot find one.

Can anyone help with this. It is driving my CRAZZZZZY!

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
