Control/C, then Control/V is fine - BUT what happens when you(often) have 2 items to paste ?

Hi

I very often use "Control/C" and then "Control/V" to copy and paste
stuff.

But I often have 2 (or more) things to paste.

Any suggestions?

(I am particularly looking for something that can be done purely with
hot-keys!)

I am unsure what you are asking...

Copy/Paste what?

Text in a document? Cells in a spreadsheet? Files on your computer?

Holding down SHIFT when selecting some things in certain areas/applications
will allow you to select contiguous items.
Holding down CTRL when selecting some things in certain areas/applications
will allow you to select non-contiguous items.

See if that helps - otherwise come back and explain in more detail what it
is you are trying to ask. ;-)

Assuming you are referring to pasting to the clipboard. When you paste to it
the previous paste is overwritten.

You will need a third-party utility to keep more than one item loaded
in the clipboard.

While it's not entirely clear from your post precisely what you're looking
for...

Take a look at Clipboard Recorder at...
http://www.lw-works.com/doc/clipboard-recorder

It's a freebie. (There's a "Professional" version available for purchase as
well, but the freebie version may be all you need).

Exactly!

I am talking about have two completely different things I need to
paste.
i.e. I need to paste EITHER one thing OR a different thing.

And the 'things' can be text, graphics, all sorts.

Cheers

Well I've had a squint at that thing and yes, that is ROUGHLY what I'm
looking for...
However:
a) I want to do it all in hot keys (I dont want to have to select from
a list using a mouse)
b) I am very suspicious that it will start hogging too much memory/
resources.

All I need is 2 or 3 different pasting buffers.

Cheers

Why not simply open a blank document and paste multiple items to it?

Take a look at their "Popup List" screen re use of "hot-keys". Possibly not
exactly what you want but look at it anyway.
http://www.lw-works.com/clipboard_recorder-doc-popup

From what we've been able to discern the program is not particularly a
"memory hog".

beamish.- Hide quoted text -

I tried installing something called "Yankie Clipper 3 freeware" - but
there didnt seem
to be any way of pasting with hot keys. Likewise there doesnt seem to
be any way
to limit the number of entries in the pasting buffers...

Nice try but without the hotkeys to paste with it's not much use to
me.
So I'll probably uninstall it.

With thanks

Not strictly correct. That would be Office XP or later, but since Office
isn't part of Windows so it would still fall in the "3rd party" category.

Hmmm... Not sure that's correct.

1st Party - You
2nd Party - Microsoft.
3rd Party - An independent Software publisher that writes windows programs.

Both Windows & Office are written by Microsoft.

Semantics,

1. Me
2. The Windows XP team
3. Something produced by someone else that wouldn't be in the box when
you opened it (you have heard about the requirement to "keep the
divisions separate" at MS)

;-)

Yes, semantics.
