Is there a way to hide the control box for the main access window?
(I'm not interested in hiding access - I know about that option)

I have a nice new custom menu for my reports that only has a close button,
but some users still want to click the main access window close button which
inconveniently closes down the database.

Any suggestions?

Your problem is EXACTLY the issue I had with every one of our store sites! I work with low-tech
users and the close button for the report and application window are so close together that they
would accidentally close the application all the time. I would get calls constantly about this so I
went looking for the same solution. I do not believe you can hide the Application Control Box, but
the next best thing for me was to *disable* the Access Application Close Button. This solved the
problem for me instantly.

Try these techniques.
