hello,
my computer(with windows xp home) recently began
restarting itself over and over. i shut it down and when
i started it back up a message saying more or
less "windows was unable to start for some reason,
select the method in which you would like to start" and
also gave advice that if you dont know what happened to
restart using last known configuration. i have tried all
options given at this screen, including all safe modes,
last known good configuration, and start windows reg.
every time it would begin to seem like its going to load
up and then just restart itself again and go back to same
message. when tried to boot windows cd at startup,
startup screen would come up, would be loading files for
setup and then suddenly message "error ftdisk.sys is
corrupted, settup failed press any button to continue"
when i press a button, it just restarts and does same
thing. any help or suggestions about at least what the
problem might be as i have no clue. thanks
