When I select a drive and click with the right mouse
button on it to see the context menu, the explorer
freezes for 3 minutes until it shows the menu.
Any tips on how to stop that?

Hello ,

1)- Stop the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service:
[Start]
Control Panel
Administrative Tools
Component Services
Services

In the Services (Local) list,
right-click Windows Image Acquisition (WIA),
and then click [Stop].

2)- HP ScanJet 3400C or 5470C Printer:
Unplug it from the USB port, and then restart Windows XP.

3)- RCA DCM 215 DSL Modem, or USB Cable Modem:
Unplug all other USB devices while using this modem.
