Contacts in windows mail

I have now moved up to vista with windows mail, from XP with ourlook
express. I was used to the contacts being under the folders list on the
left side. I found that to be very convienient - to create an email, just
double click the person and there would be a preaddressed email.
Additionally if I wanted to look up an address or phone number, just rt
click on the person and choose properties. It appears now that the
contacts cannot be put under the folder list as "contacts" in the layout
under view is not shown. The result is a number or additional steps
conpared to the "old" way of doing things.

I find the new and improved does not work as well in this situation

Ps: I hope Microsoft is listening and will consider restoring this function

They did not listen to the beta testers on this point, so?

A small work around is to open WM and your contacts folder, (set the
contacts to Details in its view menu), then resize the windows to sit
alongside each other.

Add the Contacts gadget to the Sidebar.
