Contacts duplicating automatically

I have a user whose contacts are duplicating automatically several hundred at
a time. This is not being initiated by the user. He does have outlook
snyc'ing with his Treo wirelessly through Verizon and he has installed Plaxo.

I stopped the sync'ing to the cell phone and put test contacts on the phone
and outlook and they did not sync up, yet hundreds of contacts duplicated.

I uninstalled the Plaxo toolbar and the contacts continue to duplicate.

He has gone from 700 contacts to over 3,000 fairly quickly

Any ideas where else to look

I wouldn't trust Plaxo. SOme versions of it are known to cause problems
with Outlook. Instead of "disabling" it. Try uninstalling it completely.

When do these contacts get duplicated? Does it happen when he performs a
sync? Does it happen when something specific runs on the PC? Does the
person have any other add-ins?

Are you using any other add-ins to CRM? It seems that we have an issue with
the C360 Data Quality Center. What was happening was the records would
import into Outlook correctly linked to CRM. But after several minutes it
would mysteriously lose the link. The next time that CRM Synched it would
once again bring in the Contacts, causing multiple duplicates.

When I uninstalled the C360 module my automatic duplication problem
disappeared. I am working with C360 concerning this error. It may have to
do with not having SQL Server 2005 installed on the Server.

Hi Gerry. Did you ever resolve this issue with c360? I've removed
the data quality center as well, but the issue still occurs. We know
there has to be something querying the users exchange account. We do
use Good Link, but through troubleshooting have disabled the users
Good account, but the issue persists.

Ideas?

Thanks, Ian
