Contact's Birthday Appointment

Outlook 2007 is not automatically creating events in the calendar when
birthday details are entered into people's contact cards. Any idea what
might be wrong?

Verify that you have the Outlook Address Book Service installed and
configured correctly.

Hi Russ,

I'm not sure exactly how to do that but I can very that the address book is
working (i.e. when I create a new email and select the "To" button all my
contacts appear in the list). I have also tried creating a new outlook
profile with no success.

Thanks,
Daniel

Works fine here. Can't repro your problem and haven't seen it reported. Make
sure the Contacts Folder in which you are entering the birthdays is enabled
as an email address book. Make sure you've enabled Contact linking in Tools
Preferences > Contact options...

I've essentially got the same problem. I'm using OL2003 and none of my
contact's birthday / anniversary info is on the calendar. It used to be on
my calendar, but I had to clear out my calendar since pda synching in some
circumstance resulted in duplicates. Now I wish to re-import all of my
contact date-info back into the calendar but can't find a way.

Like 'dantab', my contacts folder is an outlook e-mail address book. But
OL2003 does not appear to have Tools->Options->Preferences->Contact option
for "Contact linking."

You have a completely different problem. You broke all your connections by
not backing up and restoring your data correctly. You will need to recreate
them unless you still have a good backup of your PST file.
