contacts and address book

using microsoft office outlook 2003, am having a problem getting my contacts
to show alphabetically in my address book. I type them in as new contacts,
they appear in contacts but when I go to my address book icon in the toolbar,
it shows them in non-alpha order. this just started recently, most of the
contacts are correct in the address book. Also, if I go into the address
book itself, it is empty. How I'm really confused. I would like to have my
contacts and address book aligned.

Examine the settings you have specified for your sort order in the Outlook
Address Book.
Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or address
books > Outlook Address Book > Change. >
