contact id out of wack

Help! My data base contact id's are out of order. I
have over 3000 people in my database and all of a sudden
midway the 2000's the numbers turned into 9 digit numbers
and i can't get it back to consecutive order. please
help. -betty

If you tried to replicate your database, the autonumber would change from
sequential to random. Someone could also have been playing around with the
tables and caused this. (Can you say security?) Most of the time this
doesn't matter. Unless you have an overriding reason for having your
records in consecutive order, it won't hurt anything by being random.
